Global War on Terrorism: 137th Transportation Company (PLS)

The 137th Transportation Company (Palletized Loading System), Olathe, and St. Marys, commanded by 2LT Scott Jackson, became a part of Operation Enduring Freedom when it was activated on Feb. 16, 2003. Fourteen of the soldiers were sent to Iraq, while the remainder served at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. They were supplemented by soldiers of the 778th Transportation Company (HET) of Emporia, Kansas City, Manhattan, Emporia, and Council Grove. More than 400 people were on hand on Jan. 13, 2004 to welcome home the 81 members of the 137th Transportation Company.
